One of the largest U.S. railroads Norfolk Southern named Ann Adams, current board member of building materials distributor Specialty Building Products, as its Chief Human Resources Officer.
Adams previously held the role of Chief Transformation Officer at the railroad, which previously combined HR, labor relations, corporate communications, IT and sustainability. In this role, NS officials said Adams has successfully overseen culture change, relocation of the railroad’s headquarters and national rail labor negotiations.
“I asked Annie to step into the CHRO role because she is adept at building a high-performing organization and aligning the enterprise behind who we are, how we grow and how we bring employees along with us every step of the way,” CEO Mark George said in a Dec. 9 news release.
