Hardware, lumber and building materials buying cooperative Do it Best appointed Matt Loprest and Tim Pieper as Directors of Operations.
Loprest brings extensive leadership experience in logistics, operations management and supply chain optimization to Do it Best. Prior to joining the company, he was an assistant general manager at Amazon, where he contributed to enhancing quality, minimizing defects and optimizing workflow efficiencies.
“His extensive experience in logistics operations, combined with his leadership background and strategic mindset, makes him the ideal choice to enhance our distribution capabilities,” Do it Best VP of Logistics Ty Sordelet said in a Feb. 27 news release. “We look forward to the impact he will have on strengthening our supply chain and ensuring the best possible service to our members.”

Additionally, Pieper brings more than 20 years of experience in managerial roles, with a background in logistics and distribution. His expertise includes inventory control, warehouse management, customer service, regulatory compliance and supply chain optimization.
Sordelet added: “His track record of maintaining a 99.75% inventory accuracy rate at a large-scale distribution center demonstrates his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. His leadership in logistics and distribution will further strengthen our ability to deliver top-tier service and efficiency to our members.”

On Nov. 22, Fort Wayne, IN-based Do it Best completed its acquisition of True Value. The acquisition includes True Value’s inventory, brand rights and paint manufacturing facilities. True Value will operate as a separate subsidiary of Do it Best to ensure continuity and service for its customers.
