The 2022 merger of Lawson Products, TestEquity and GexPro Services into Distribution Solutions Group was one of the biggest market developments we covered that year, and now that the dust has settled, it’s a good time to explore what DSG looks like today, why that combination happened and what’s on the horizon.
So, our latest MDM Podcast episode featured a conversation with Brad Wallace, who is a partner at LKCM Headwater Investments — the largest shareholder of Distribution Solutions Group.
Having grown up in distribution, Wallace was integral in DSG’s formation and its ongoing integration, so I had him explain the rationale behind the transaction and the subsequent acquisitions the company has made since.
He also previewed what’s in store for DSG in the near future and shared a private equity perspective on why distribution is such an attractive industry for investment lately and in the years to come.
